Your privacy is important to us. Koios is designed to be a personal thinking environment — we do not collect, sell, or share your personal data with third parties. This policy explains exactly what data we handle and how.
We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide the service: • Account Information — your name and email address, provided directly when you create an account, or supplied by your sign-in provider (Google or Apple). If you use Sign in with Apple's Hide My Email, Apple's private relay address is stored in place of your real email. • User Content — projects, notes, inspiration items, and settings you create within the app. • Usage Data — anonymized, aggregated metrics on app performance (e.g., crash reports, page load times). We do NOT track your location, browsing habits, device identifiers, or any behavioral data across apps or websites.
Your data is used exclusively to provide and improve the Koios experience: • To authenticate your account and display your projects, notes, and settings. • To sync your content across devices. • To analyze anonymized, aggregated usage patterns to improve app stability and performance. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making.
Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. We implement industry-standard security measures including: • TLS encryption for all data in transit. • Encrypted databases for data at rest. • Access controls limiting data access to essential personnel only. • Regular security audits and monitoring. While we take every precaution, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security. Data Retention: Your content is retained for as long as your account is active. When you request account deletion from Settings → Request Account Deletion, your projects, notes, inspiration items, and settings are deleted immediately, your account is blocked from further use, and your login account is scheduled for permanent deletion within 3 business days. Minimal records of the deletion request may be retained for audit purposes and are not linked to your content.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the following rights regarding your data: • Access — request a copy of your personal data. • Rectification — correct inaccurate or incomplete data. • Deletion — request deletion of your account and all associated data (Settings → Request Account Deletion). • Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format. • Objection — object to processing of your data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below. We respond within 30 days as required by GDPR and CCPA.
KOIOS uses essential third-party services to function: • Authentication Providers — Google Sign-In, and Sign in with Apple once enabled, verify your identity. These providers share only your name and email address with KOIOS to create and sign in to your account. KOIOS does not access your Google or Apple contacts, calendars, or other connected-account data. • Cloud Infrastructure — our hosting provider stores encrypted data. KOIOS does NOT use in this build: • Payment processors — KOIOS is free and does not process payments or store payment card details. • Advertising networks or tracking pixels. • Analytics SDKs that collect personal data. • Third-party cookies for tracking or profiling. • Calendar, contact, or other connected-account data. We use only essential, first-party cookies for authentication and session management — no consent banner is required under GDPR.
Koios is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it promptly. This policy complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Apple's App Store requirement for a dedicated privacy policy.
Your data may be stored and processed in any country where we operate. By using Koios, you consent to the transfer of your data to countries outside your country of residence. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers in compliance with GDPR and other applicable data protection laws.
